Relations → How to Quit the Depression?

First, try to understand — why you fell into a depression? Perhaps there are several reasons of it. For example you're terribly tired of the frantic pace of life or you suspect that your boyfriend is unfaithful to you. Or maybe you worked too long on something, and you are not able to reach the goal?

Experience shows that attempts to recall when the depression started and why it could happen — this is the first step to solving the problem.

If you discovered that the cause of your melancholy — the daily bustle, try to relax and calm down. Take a couple of days off from work and spend them something pleasant for you. The list that can give you pleasure — this is the next step.

Find in this list something that used to serve you perfectly. For example go somewhere, maybe even to the boutique (sure if finances allow, otherwise such a campaign will be another reason for the blues) or visit your best friend.

By the way, the best friend, faithful and understanding — the best cure for depression. You can confide in her. Tell her all that pent up, do not stop and not thought of. Of course you should warn your friend about the purpose of your visit, otherwise your therapy could turn into a mass depression.

Try to find something to do. The options may be very different, and even completely opposite. For example you can do something interesting, but at the same time, you can help and the most tedious job that does not require hard thinking. For instance, do spring cleaning, or make a small repair in the kitchen. That helps to distract.

If you like sports good exercise can get you out of depression. Go to the gym and work to exhaustion. However, not to death, know the difference. Walking too will benefit. Try to put your attention to the nature, pick up a beautiful leaf and explore it. If you «catched» by the winter, watch the flying snowflakes. Just stand, rest, let go of thought.

But there are situations when it's better turn to a psychiatrist, until it is too late. Extreme cases include:
• nagging sadness, hopelessness, fear, anxiety, guilt, worthlessness.
• Insomnia and other sleep disorders, chronic fatigue.
• Loss of appetite, loss of interest in everything in the world, including sex.
• Thoughts about death, suicide
• Disorders of memory.

If something like that you noticed, better make an appointment to a good specialist. Maybe it's not so scary, and you just think that everything has gone away, but to consult in these cases should be required.
